Hi guys! New to the thread. I’ve been steadily gaining weight the last 8 years and I just can’t handle it anymore. I’m an avid hiker and the extra 40 lbs (5’5” tall) I’m carrying are slowing me down too much. I’ve started some changes but I had some questions:
Just a note, I (29f) struggled with anorexia from 16-20 years old, so in the past I have stayed away from counting calories because I don’t want to get obsessive. However, if any of you have had disordered eating, then counted calories without backsliding I’m open to ideas on how to do that.
- What are your favorite things to pan-cook foods in (like scrambled eggs, stir-fry, ect) if you are trying not to use oil? Or should I use different cooking methods?
- I really need to cut down on portion sizes. Have you guys “weaned yourself off” or just gone straight to properly sized portions? I get nausea if I don’t eat “enough” during the day but I’m clearly eating too much.
- What was the change that worked best for you personally? Thank you all so much for your help/feedback.
